MAJOR PENNANTS DIVISION 5 2024 WINNERS
by Adam Brennan, Major Pennants Team Captain
A lot of work and effort went into winning this years (2024) Division 5 Pennant.
It all started on Friday 2nd of February in the Leonay Room. I presented all the players with their Shirts, Caps and Balls as Team Captain. At the presentation we as a team all agreed Leonay didn't deserve to be in Division 5 and we as a team would give it a red hot crack to win the Pennant and get back into Division 4. Leonay won all regular home and away matches to make the final and automatically qualified for Division 4 in 2025.
Winning the final against a resilient Bondi team is something I won't forget (especially dragging everyone down the 19th Hole again), it was a great day for the clubs history. I'd love to be at Riverside Oaks again next year, playing for the Division 4 Pennant.
I want to thank everyone who played a role in our success this year, the list is too long to mention everyone and I would be upset if i forgot people. We played as a team and it showed, thanks to the players and caddies for a great season. I would like to thank our sponsors, the Sports Club and the BBQ cooks for your continued support as well this year. Special thanks to the supporters and caddies who came out and watched the Gents play in the final.
Congratulations to David Stevenson being undefeated in the regular Season and in the Final as well.
Congratulations to Jake Thompson on being this years winner of the Bill Allen Trophy.
