Junior Only Competitions held in April

Following very successful junior only competitions held in the January, 2026 school holidays further Junior only events were held at the Leonay Golf Club on Tuesday 7 April and the following Tuesday, 14 April.  These events were open to Leonay Junior Golf Club Members.

Both days attracted outstanding fields with 24 juniors playing on day one and 27 played on day two.  Stableford competitions were held on both days with the field split into two divisions, one for those who had handicaps and one for those who did not have a handicap.

Winners on day one were:

Juniors with handicaps: 1st., Blake McNally, 2nd, John Pesley, 3rd, Maverick Kennedy.
Juniors without handicaps: 1st., Jake Sarguia, 2nd, Ryley Coote, 3rd, Cameron Barrett.

Winners on day two were:

Juniors with handicaps: 1st., Daniel Cartman, 2nd, Saxon Koslowski, 3rd, Blake McNally
Juniors without handicaps: 1st, Nichlos Aylin, 2nd, Lucas Zvonicek, 3rd, Braith Vella.

After their rounds Leonay Golf Club provided all players with complimentary soft drinks, pizzas and chips.

These days could not occur without the support of Leonay Golf Club CEO, Corey Fletcher, The Board and Pro. Shop staff.  Special thanks must also to Maxine McNally and PGA Associate Mikayla Edwards who gave up their days to supervise the juniors.

Junior Coaching.

PGA Associates, Mikayla Edwards and Isobel Mansfield will conduct Junior Clinics over 8 weeks commencing 14 May.  Positions are limited with only a couple of spots left.  Inquiries can be made through the Leonay Pro. Shop.

Thanks to member Dean Watson and Toyota Forklifts for their generous sponsorship of Leonay Junior Golfers.
Through this sponsorship a Junior Development Squad will be selected for specialised coaching.  The squad will be selected in the coming weeks.  Those selected will be contacted in due course.
